El Tricolor are regarded as among the favourites to win the Copa America. Although Mexico hasn’t participated in the Copa since 2016, they have a strong record in the competition, having made at least the quarter-finals on eight occasions. 

Although Jaime Lozano’s team may be favoured to be successful in the USA, they head into this match, having lost three of their last four international games. 

Mexico will look to star striker Santiago Gimenez, who scored 23 goals for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie last season, to inspire them to victory.

Jamaica will play in the Copa America 2024, which will be just the third time they have competed in the tournament, having made their debut in 2015. They have yet to record a point in their six previous games in the competition. 

Although the Reggae Boyz may have a poor recent record in the competition, they have recorded three consecutive international victories and have also mounted a seven-game unbeaten run over 90 minutes.
