The French have not been dominant in friendly matches, with a 0:2 defeat against the Germans, a 3:2 win against Chile, a 3:0 win against Luxembourg, and a 0:0 win against Canada.

However, France is one of the teams that can afford to arrive at the championship in less than top form and, thanks to their talent, shift into a higher gear in the first match.
