England scored the most beautiful goal of the tournament in the quarter-finals of the EURO 2024. When it looked like England would fail and end the tournament in a match against Slovakia, young talent Jude Bellingham scored the equaliser in the 90+5th minute.
At the start of extra time, Harry Kane scored in the first minute to give England a 2-1 lead, and the match ended on that scoreline.
Although England escaped, it was another poor game for them. Slovakia scored first, allowing them to close down and try to defend for the rest of the game.
And Slovakia almost succeeded, as England didn’t have many chances. It should also be noted that Jude Bellingham’s goal was also the first shot on target.
Switzerland reached the quarter-finals by knocking out EURO 2020 champions Italy. They celebrated their victory with a reasonably confident 2-0 win. Italy had little chance against Switzerland, who was in solid form and narrowly missed out on beating Germany to top the group.
It seems fashionable to say bad things about the English team – they are playing poorly, not worthy of a place in the quarter-finals, etc. However, the team is doing what was expected of them – topping the group and now within one win of the EURO 2024 semi-finals.

Switzerland knocked out the champions, Italy, but it was no surprise to anyone. Italy arrived with a strong renewal, and it was not the players who had to defend the title who won it.
