Hungary and Scotland’s chances of reaching the playoffs are no longer entirely up to them. Second place in the group will no longer be possible unless Switzerland loses to Germany by a crushing margin and the Scots beat Hungary and crush it.
Switzerland currently has 4 points and +2 goals, while Scotland has 1 point and -4 goals. For Hungary, second place is no longer within reach, as the maximum number of points they can get is three.
However, three points can still allow them to qualify for the playoffs as one of the best third-placed teams in the group.
Although the Hungarians lost both games, there were some positives. They stood up much better against the Germans than the Scots, and the Swiss were much more motivated than in the match against the Scots, where a draw was a good result for them.
Dominik Szoboszlai is the youngest captain in the history of the European Football Championship. The 23-year-old Hungarian must set the team up against the Scots, who have many problems with their attack. Although they are creating chances, they are not making them happen yet.
