EURO 2024 has reached the potentially decisive gameweek two stage. Two teams looking to improve their chances of a place in the last-16 meet on Saturday evening, as Turkiye and Portugal clash in Group F of the competition.

The victory was a significant turnaround for Turkiye, who had entered the EURO 2024 on the back of a disappointing run of form, including a five-game winless streak in all competitions.
Tuesday’s triumph also put to bed a terrible recent record at the Euros for Turkiye, who had lost all three of their group games at EURO 2021.
Their recent games at the Euros have at least provided entertainment in recent European Championships, as six of their last eight games in the competition have produced over 2.5 goals.
In their opening group game, Portugal recorded a last-gasp 2-1 victory over a stubborn Czechia. The Selecao needed a stoppage-time goal from Porto winger Francisco Conceicao to secure victory.
Roberto Martinez’s team have been in top form lately, with an impressive record of 14 wins in their previous 16 international outings.
One of the key reasons for Portugal’s excellent recent international record is their attacking threat, as Cristiano Ronaldo and co. have scored at least two goals in nine of the last 11 outings.
Like their opponents, Portugal entered Euro2024 with a poor recent record in the competition, as they were winless in three games at the European Championships.
A positive for Portugal is that they have had the best of the recent head-to-head meetings with Turkiye, winning the last three meetings and scoring at least twice in all three victories.
